The Learning Resources Center (LRC) is the library of MSSD. With over 26,000 titles in the collection, including monographs, serials, multimedia CD-ROMs, maps, posters, vertical files, filmstrips, videotapes, kits, and sound recordings, the LRC is a valuable resource.
MSSD students, teachers, and staff are the primary library users. Students and staff members from Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) and Gallaudet University may also use LRC resources.
LRC Hours:
Registration: Students must register in the LRC database before borrowing LRC resources.
Checking Out Books: Students may borrow up to 5 books at a time and they can be borrowed for four weeks for class research projects. The loan periods for other media may vary, the LRC will adjust due dates as deemed necessary. If you are not sure when your books are due, please contact the Library Media Coordinator.
Overdue loans and lost/damaged items: The LRC may charge fees for lost/damaged books. Near the end of each quarter, copies of overdue notices and bills will be sent to parents/guardians that include any library fees. Students and teachers with overdue loans will receive notifications asking to return the items. If you have questions about your child’s school account, please contact our Student Life Operations Coordinator, Christopher Sewell at Christopher.Sewell@gallaudet.edu
